Why We Will Remember Tim Russert

June 30, 2008

I was truly shocked at the sudden passing of NBC’s Tim Russert, moderator of “Meet the Press.” Much has been written about the man, by people who knew him personally. I only saw him on the little screen. But his death will change how American institutions, such as election night coverage, will proceed.

The Same Old Song and Dance Shows

April 23, 2008

I am so sick of the way music and dancing is handled on TV. The list of fake entertainment in competition form grows every week: the rating’s behemoth “American Idol,” “Your Mama Don’t Dance,” “Step It Up and Dance,” “Rock the Cradle,” and so forth.
