Editor's Log: Changes

September 23, 2008

I’ve struggled for almost a month with how to write this. I take that back. I know how to write it, rather I’ve struggled with what to say. Even now the words won’t come out right.

Some of you may have heard the news already. Graffiti will no longer be a bi-monthly publication. Instead, the state’s leading news alternative will come out just once a month. This means no more special sections in our off-weeks either. Page counts are likely to go down, too.

Wistfulness and West Virginia

June 3, 2008

I — like many my age, I believe — have a fondness for nostalgia. Like the characters in Noah Baumbach’s “Kicking and Screaming,” I’m instantly nostalgic for moments, even as they happen.
